Why choose Somerset Dog Walking?
I am so lucky to have found my passion in life (dogs!) and wake up every day excited to go to work. I spend my days walking and training dogs, and my evenings and weekends studying and ensuring that all my methods are the most up to date, so I can give the best service to my dogs and my clients.
My promise:
- To provide excellent care and support* for you and your dogs;
- To give you peace of mind that your dog will be exercised mentally as well as physically;
- To treat all dogs with kindness.
Professional
Dog walking isn’t just about walking dogs. As a professional, I hold myself to a high standard – and that includes following all the legislation and setting an example. Whether it’s knowing which Public Space Protection Order covers what area, which Public Rights of Way we can use, when to pick up after dogs (answer: always!), Road Traffic laws (dogs must be transported securely – all my dogs are transported in a bespoke crated van, with no loose dogs), the Dangerous Dogs Act (what constitutes an ‘out of control’ dog), what to do when we find a stray dog, responsible ownership and much more. This professional knowledge means that I am regularly asked to mentor other pet professionals, both nationally and internationally, which I am happy to do in an effort to help raise standards within the (currently unreglated) industry.
I regularly update my Continued Professional Development to ensure that my training knowledge complies with top industry standards. I invest in the business, to give you and your dogs the service you deserve.
Reliable
I have an online portal for clients, so you can book a service any time, day or night. If a specific time is required, this can be added to the notes. You will receive a Post Walk Service Report after each walk, detailing where we went, who with, what we did, and I also send some photos showing the fun we’ve had!
I am DBS checked, Pet (and Human) First Aid Certified, insured – and am happy to provided all these certificates at our Meet and Greet.
Experienced
As well as the experience gained over the past (at the time of writing) four years walking dogs, I have a wealth of knowledge – from rehabilitating dogs with behavioural and psychological issues, to working with dogs in a welfare capacity. I bring all of this experience out on the walks, to make them as fun and interesting for your dogs as they are for me!
* the support doesn’t stop at the walks. I am always on hand should any client have any questions – and if I don’t know the answer, I am always happy to refer!
